Coastal Carolina Fair

wrapped up this weekend at the Exchange Park in Ladson. Headlining acts such as

, and the Marvelettes were followed by fireworks each night.

On Friday night, Toronto’s

Broken Social Scene

played an epic set at the Music Farm. With their ever-changing lineup, they create a unique show both musically and visually.

On Saturday, the American Heart Association’s Lowcountry Heart Walk — presented locally by

MUSC Heart & Vascular Center

— began in downtown Charleston. The event, which had over 4,500 participants, raised money for cardiovascular research and education.

Also on Saturday afternoon, bluegrass lovers gathered at Mullet Hall for Harvest Fest 2006. Featured acts included

Blue Plantation

, the

Hungry Monks


Yee Haw Junction


Flatt City

, and

Sounds of Grass

. Saturday evening was the

Halsey Gallery

’s Tokyo Moon membership gala. It began with a performance by

Quentin Baxter

and guest artists in the Recital Hall, continued with a look at the

Force of Nature

exhibition, and ended with a full moon sake toast.
