The third annual Shopping With Friends kicked off at 5 p.m. last Friday at Saks Fifth Avenue downtown. Shoppers enjoyed catering from Cru Café and wines donated by Whole Foods Market while contributing to Lowcountry AIDS Services with each purchase. Visit

for more information.

Later Friday evening at Redux Studios, local street artist Sheepman and Baltimore’s KEAR opened their show, Project Aerosol. The exhibit is intended to “challenge the limitation of aerosol as technique for painting,”, and will be on view at the gallery through Dec. 30. Go to

to find out more about the show.

Saturday night, the Charleston City Paper’s annual holiday party took over Torch. Gift exchanges, fire dancing, and shots — who could ask for more? Oh … and if you were at the West Ashley Bait & Tackle later that evening and happened upon writer Stratton Lawrence’s open car window, he’d really like his turtle back.

Last but not least, the Budweiser Clydesdales were horsin’ around Marion Square this weekend, along with the little donkey who dreamed of being a Clydesdale (one of my personal favorite commercials). Their last day in town was Sunday, when they walked in the Mt. Pleasant Christmas parade.
