SC Stonewall Democrats Meet Wednesday Aug. 8
The first meeting of the new Lowcountry Chapter of the STONEWALL DEMOCRATS will be held on Wednesday, August 8 at 6:00 PM at Sunfire Grill (1090 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard, Charleston, 29407 – 766-0223). Cocktails, appetizers, and dinner will be available for purchase.
The Lowcountry Stonewall Democrats have already made quite an impact in the South Carolina Democratic Party, both locally and statewide! We took a lead role in helping to organize the Charleston CNN/You Tube Debate and were recognized in front of the 2,500 debate attendees by Carol Fowler, SC Democratic State Party Chair.
The Stonewall Democrats is a national organization with local chapters and a grassroots force for social change within the GLBT movement and within the Democratic Party. Members work to get fair-minded candidates elected and dialogue with Democratic Party officials about why GLBT families need and deserve support from the Democratic Party and its elected officials.
There are good, positive changes happening in the SC State Democratic Party! Now is a great time to get involved. At this meeting, we will be setting some simple organizational guidelines and goals.
