As expected, Thomas Ravenel pled guilty to cocaine charges today, but birthed a new piece to this puzzle with the announcement that he had not sought treatment for drugs but for something else.
Ravenel also said he is not being treated for drug abuse, but for some problems that stemmed from his childhood that formulated what he called “reckless behavior.”
What makes this announcement more interesting is that his father, Arthur Ravenel Jr., told the press months ago that his son had a drug problem. Just more fodder for my pilot, The Ravenels. I’m sure NBC will need it by midseason. I’ll happily take casting suggestions.
In related news, ex-ex-pat and alleged conspirator Pasquale Pellicoro crawled out from under his rock in Switzerland to tell the Post and Courier that he fled the country because he’s innocent. Don’t know how they got this exclusive interview but my guess is that somebody at the paper knows a guy who knows the guy. Let’s hope for their sake that they don’t know him that well.
Pellicoro also confirmed that investigators presented him names of some of the people they were interested in.
“Some were close to me; some I didn’t know at all,” he said.
According to Pasquale, Ravenel’s house after closing time was somewhere between Bohemia and the “It’s a Small World” ride.
“Thomas was always mixing people together,” Pellicoro said. He has “always been very eclectic.” Many different languages were spoken in his house, he said.
