The College of Charleston’s CofC Radio welcomes students back to the fall semester with a special “Hipster Night” event at Cumberland’s on Thurs. Sept. 27. CofC Radio is a student-run independent station that streams live from www.cofcradio.com.
Headlining the event are Norfolk, Vir., power-pop trio Still Pink. They nearly won CofC’s fifth annual Charleston Battle of the Bands Competition at the Music Farm last March with a tight, melodic, big-chord sounds and confident delivery. Their new album is titled Airing. Local band The Valkyrie (formerly Parker) unveil their new studio EP, Stories in Parts, at the show. Thomas Elite completes the bill. Attendees can compete in “Hipster Bingo” for their chance to win a prize pack compliments of Regal Entertainment, 52.5 Records, and more. The event starts at 9 p.m. Cover is $5 ($8 under 21).
