This Sunday, October 7, local blues musician and enthusiast Gary “Shrimp City Slim” Erwin (of the Lowcountry Blues Society) presents another one of his well-organized, fun-timin’, totally free musical events.

The “American Music Celebration” is an outdoor concert featuring performances from Mississippi soul/blues man Johnny Rawls (left) and his Southern Soul Revue, Curley Taylor (son of the legendary Jude Taylor, left) and his band Zydeco Trouble, Aussie harmonica and digeridoo player Harper (below) and heralded local string combo Bob Sachs & The Maniacs.

The event is sponsored by the Kiawah Island Accommodations Tax Committee and will take lave at Freshfields Village Green (Located at the entrance to Kiawah and Seabrook islands) from 1-7 p.m. on Sun. Oct. 7. Should be a hoot.
