Walked out to my car this morning and I found this note on my window:

“If I were a thief, I would have moved on because your vehicle was properly locked and uninviting to me.”

Um. Thanks, I guess. You know we try to make our car as unappealing as possible — really junk the thing up — and it’s nice to finally be recognized for it.

But, seriously, great effort by North Charleston police to make residents more aware of their car. I can’t tell you how many police reports I’ve read of women who leave their purse in the car overnight or the iPod sitting in plain view in the cup holder.

That said, for them to claim that my high-end tire iron isn’t of value to thieves — well, they’ve obviously never tried to change a tire using the little one that comes with the car.
