For most folks, the days of the neighborhood pharmacy are over. Not that there’s a need to knock CVS and Rite Aid and those kinds of places. They fill a very big need. But you have to admit there is something charming about stepping into a pharmacy and actually knowing the pharmacist’s name — and not because you read it on his name tag. Which is one of the reasons why Daniel Island Pharmacy is a neat place. The other reason: It’s more than just a drug store — it’s got a sizable collection of children’s toys. That said, you won’t find any Transformers here. No Barbies. And absolutely no Bratz. We’re talking about solid educational stuff, the kind you might want to buy your little guy or gal about to undergo his or her tests to get into Buist Academy.
