From the Charleston Regional Business Journal:
The Charleston International Airport might request a new $3 passenger fee to pay for some $150 million in expected capital improvements and projects coming down the pike in the next few years.
Jennings said the authority is likely to hire a consultant to create a strategic growth plan for the airport, which he said is about at maximum capacity. A laundry list of needs includes construction of a luggage carousel and an additional gate. Airlines would collect the fee on the airport’s behalf.
