Call it the second loss for Arthur Ravenel. Charleston County voters threw out school board member David Engelman and turned away all but one candidate who seemed sure fits for Ravenel’s conservative slate on the board.

It’s an endorsement of the board’s support for the district administration and the direction they’re headed. But we’ve spoken with some of these candidates and they realize that the next two years are going to have to include results, not just rhetoric.
