Kinsey Labberton’s Favorite Albums of 2008
1. Various Artists — The Wackness: Music from the Motion Picture (Jive) [image-1]
When I left the theater after watching The Wackness, I was like, “Daaamn, gots to get me that soundtrack! Fa real!” (Warning: Film may induce dialogue affectation). Nas, Notorious B.I.G., Faith Evans, Wu Tang, Will Smith’s “Summertime” … listening to that soundtrack brings me right back to when I was struggling on the mean streets of suburban Yakima, Washington, rolling deep in my Volvo Station wagon, shiiit. Ya feel me? Word.

3. Flight of the Conchords — Flight of the Conchords (Sub Pop)
4. Santogold — Santogold (Downtown)
5. Fleet Foxes — Fleet Foxes (Sub Pop)

8. Estelle — Shine (Atlantic)
9. She & Him — Volume One (Merge)
