Midtown

Upper King Street. Downtown

There are a lot of projects looking to be the next great Charleston development — putting a neighborhood on the map like Charleston Place did for King and Market streets nearly three decades ago. Expected to break ground in the next year, Midtown may just be that kind of transformative project for the struggling boutiques on Upper King Street. The mix of hotel rooms and retail space make for a good Charleston Place comparison, but the addition of as many as 200 condos shows this neighborhood isn’t just about tourists and shopping — it’s about living.
