Been missing North Charleston’s short-lived Mexican restaurant, Raul’s? Raul Sanchez will take over the kitchen at Folly Beach’s Wich Doctor this Tuesday night for a special pop-up dinner.
Here’s the rundown:
Chiles en Hogada: Poblano chiles filled with meat, fruit, spices and topped with a walnut-based cream sauce
Carne en su jugo: “Beef marinated in its own juices”
Gisad De Puerco: Pork stew in green salsa
Chaletas in Pasillo Sauce: Boneless pork chops in pasillo chile sauce
According to Krista Hines at ’Wich Doctor, they’ve been cooking up a storm today and should have the menu ready to start serving at 5 p.m.
From their Facebook page: “I have not had all of Raul’s dishes, but I can assure you they will be authentic as many of his recipes have been in his family for 100+ years. Hope some of you can make it!”
