Local hip-hop artist Adam Seigler, a.k.a. Seigs, and producer/songwriter DJ JeyBi are set to release a new collection of songs next month as the duo Diss Associated. The collaboration began two years ago with their debut Connected Thoughts.

The new LP, Return of the Southern Gentleman, continues the pair’s quest to combine old-school hip-hop and the Holy City’s beach vibe. “We try to stay true to classic hip-hop roots, but we add a layer of modern songwriting sensibility to make our sound more engaging to a broader audience with a more eclectic range of musical interest,” Seigler says. “The influence of the Charleston island sound is readily evident in our music.”

The release show happens at the Brick House Nov. 7.
