Local institution 82 Queen has announced a new executive chef, Nick Ingram. The Charleston native has, according to a press release, been in the food and beverage industry for 15 years and previously worked as the sous chef at 39 Rue de Jean.

Ingram takes over for Steven Lusby who we profiled in 2012 as one of “Six talented Charleston chefs who deserve your love and devotion.” Lusby worked at 82 Queen for seven years, first as sous chef, then taking over the executive role in 2010.

Regarding Lusby’s departure, Jonathan Kish, Queen Street Hospitality Group CEO, says, “We parted ways. We’re not sure what his plans are going to be or if he’s going to stay in the food and beverage industry.”

Ingram has been working with 82 Queen for the past three months in the chef de cuisine role, and Kish says while he’ll be continuing the current menu for now, diners can expect some new dishes around the first of the year.
