The Cooper River Bridge Run and the event’s Expo Runners Lounge is looking for bands to help cheer on tens of thousands of runners next spring. All artists must play at least 50 percent original music. Last year, over 1,900 bands from all over the U.S. applied, and 23 were chosen. Send an upbeat MP3 and website or Facebok page to runandstrum@gmail.com to be considered. The event weekend is March 26-28, 2015, and the deadline for band entries is Dec. 1.
23 bands are chosen. Usa today last year deemed the crbr race as one of the top 15 because it has more music per sq mile than any other in the nation. And what they didn’t mention is that the 23 bands we pick play original music. It is a band per quarter to third of a mile, and is musically curated based on the terrain.
