The Craft Beer All Star Showdown lets City Paper readers choose between two Charleston beers in our weeklong showdown. Check out the full bracket below. Today’s first match-up is Tradesman’s Circuit Breaker IPA vs. Revelry’s Funkmaster Brett.Voting for this match-up ends at 3 p.m. TODAY.

Circuit Breaker IPA by Tradesman
American IPA, 7.5% ABV

Nano-brewery Tradesman is all about unpretentious beers and its Circuit Breaker IPA fits that bill. Perfect for a hot afternoon, this dry, hoppy brew is medium bodied and not too bitter.

Funkmaster Brett & The Furious Hops by Revelry Brewing Co.
American IPA, 7% ABV

Revelry’s Funkmaster Brett & The Furious Hops has fans calling it “so funkin good.” The reason? It’s a smooth brew with a slightly bitter finish. It’s a 100 percent Brett IPA, meaning it’s fermented with Brettanomyces, a wild, non-spore forming yeast. This yeast makes beer funky — thus the name and the resulting fruit flavors of pineapple and lychee.
