The North Charleston Arts Fest is just over a month away, held on May 3-7. The annual festival features art of all kinds, from concerts to theater to exhibitions to public art installations. And this year the fest just keeps getting better with a new event, the Arty Block Party.

On Thurs. May 4 from 5-9 p.m. head to the Olde Village of North Charleston for art vendors, live music from the Shem Creek Boogie Band and violinist Daniel D, live painting demos, hands-on art activities, and a kid’s zone.

Speaking of vendors — the fest is still looking for some. Whether you want to show your wares at the Arty Block Party or at the Arts Fest Expo (May 6 & 7), you can still apply to be a vendor online, now through Fri. April 14. Vendor spaces at the block party are open to artists, artisans, crafters, and arts related businesses and nonprofits, and fees range from $10-$30. Spaces at the expo range from $50-$80 and are open to artists, fine craft artisans, crafters selling original items, and art guilds and antique merchants.
