Election day has us starving (for revolution) and also ya know, foodstuffs. Behold the pop-ups that await you this week, from wine tastings to oyster roasts and grand openings. Oh, and did we mention Charleston Burger Week starts tomorrow? More than 50 restaurants will have special, tasty burgers on the menu, with a portion of the sale going to nonprofit Feed the Need. From 4 to 6 p.m. head to Itinerate Literate for Books & Booze.

Revelry releases two beers today: Flanders style Red 5 Standing By is back and dark wheat Dunkelweiss Covert Ops will be available (also in 12 oz. cans.)

Short Grain is at Edmund’s Oast Brewing Co. with maple glazed fish collar and free high-fives for voters.

goat.sheep.cow.north hosts vintage designer Present and the Future starting at 5 p.m., and will have sparkling and rose by the glass happy hour from 3 to 8 p.m. with $8 glasses.

Starting at 7 p.m., sit down to Edmund’s Oast’s Hirsch Vineyards wine dinner. The family style dinner will be held in new event space, The Library.

Taste “perfect for the holidays” French Champagne at Bin 526 starting at 6:30 p.m.

Charleston Burger Week kicks off and runs through Wed. Nov. 14. Check back Wednesday for ALL the meaty deets.

Sip and stroll at Middleton Place with wine starting at 5:30 p.m.

Charleston Moves’ fourth annual Pedal and Panache starts at 6 p.m. at Cannon Green. There will be soulful music from The Black Diamond Band; an open bar stocked with Fatty’s Beer Works brews, wine from Advintage Distributing, and Moscow Mules from Rarebit; upscale hors d’oeuvres from Cannon Green; plus a silent auction with tickets to local events, original homemade goods, and more.

From 6 to 9 p.m. Butcher & Bee hosts chef Anissa Helou for a FEAST dinner, drawing from recipes in Helou’s book Feast: Food of the Islamic World.

Don’t know your Chenin Blanc from your Pinot Grigio? Head to Bin 526 for a Wine 101 class starting at 6 p.m.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: you can’t eat the cats. But you can sip wine at Pounce Cat Cafe for their Feline and Wine fest starting at 6:30 p.m.

Sichuan master David Schuttenberg opens up Kwei Fei in the adjacent Pour House kitchen space (former home of The Lot). Grab dinner starting at 5 p.m.

Charleston Wine + Food hosts Flick at Nite at Lowndes Grove starting at 6 p.m. Enjoy an outdoor screening of The Notebook while you snack on bites and sip drinks from local and regional chefs and mixologists.

Kevin Regan’s Merrow’s Garden Bar is up and running at Workshop through Saturday.

The College of Charleston Office of Sustainability hosts a sustainable seafood dinner and discussion starting at 5 p.m. The Good Catch Program, the SCDNR, and Aramark provide an oyster roast, Lowcountry boil, crudite, and vegan sushi for all participants. Community members are welcome.

Farmstead Co. pops up at The Daily starting at 6 p.m. with Blair Machado’s in-season vegetables and fresh proteins.

It’s Friday Junior at Stems and Skins starting at 9 p.m. There will be West Coast natural winemakers guest DJing, with pours from Vinca Minor as well as Minimus and Omero Cellars.


Starting at 7 p.m. on Tommy Condon’s patio the Charleston Pipe Band hosts a whiskey tasting; tickets help support bagpipe music in the Lowcountry.

Brith Sholom Beth Israel Synagogue hosts a community dinner with “Bubbie’s Favorite Recipes” and an open bar starting at 6 p.m.

Daps hosts their first comedy night with Deshaun Mason & Friends starting at 8 p.m.

2Nixons is at Proof Fri. and Sat. starting at 6 p.m. with the hottest noods in town.

Nana’s Seafood & Soul throws a pop-up oyster roast at 4 p.m. Oyster bands are $15.

Edmund’s Oast Exchange hosts their second food truck happy hour starting at noon with Herd Provisions, Life Raft Treats and $3 house beers, $6 glasses of wine.

Fatty’s Brewing throws a party with a purpose with live music and barbecue from 4 to 8 p.m., raising money for Carolina Children’s Charity a local nonprofit that helps children with birth defects and or childhood diseases.

Tideline Tours takes you out on the water at 3:30 p.m. to explore local estuaries followed by a happy hour with Lowcounty fare, oysters, and s’mores.

If you’ve been craving gator lately, look no further than Dockery’s Gator Roast held during the Carolina v. Florida game. Dockery’s roasts an entire (!) gator on the Pavillon  starting at noon.

Bowens Island hosts Oysters for Autism starting at 4 p.m. Enjoy live music, oysters, drinks, and a silent auction.

The Lowcountry Nosh: Jewish Food and Heritage Festival takes places noon to 4 p.m. at Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim. Enjoy traditional Jewish foods including corned beef, chopped liver, “imported” bagels, knishes, rolled cabbage prepared by the Temple Sisterhood and Jewish sweets. There will also be activities for children, tours of the historic property, and an outdoor stage.

Taste a sea full of shrimp and grits at the RiverDogs festival from noon to 3 p.m. There will be live music and beaucoup de shrimp and grit samples from around Charleston.

Tideline Tours hosts a Lowcountry boil on Morris Island starting at 3 p.m.

Frothy Beard hosts Dr. Anna Lepeley for a talk on why beer is good for you starting at 7:30 p.m.

Rock for rhinos at Low Tide Brewing from 2 to 6 p.m. There will be music, traditional South African food, and specialty beer, all in support of endangered rhinos.

Charleston Woodlands and Poogan’s Smokehouse throw FLOMO, a barbecue and live music fest in support of Operation BBQ Relief, a nonprofit that helps feed people in need after natural disasters, like Hurricane Florence. There will also be outdoor activities like kayaking, SUP, hiking, biking, and fishing.
