COVID-19 updates: South Carolina health officials reported 1,072 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday, with 17 additional confirmed deaths.

With 6,310 tests collected, the percent-positive rate was 11.1%.

As of 4:38 p.m. Oct. 15, via S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control:
Confirmed cases in S.C.:  154,869 (+1,072)
Positive tests in Charleston County (total): 16,088 (+49)
Negative tests in S.C.: 1,473,607
Deaths in S.C. from COVID-19: 3,400 (+11)
