COVID-19 updates: South Carolina health officials reported 741 new cases of the coronavirus on Tuesday, with 18 additional confirmed death.
With 5,027 tests on Tuesday, 14.7% came back positive.
As of 3:27 p.m. Nov. 3, via S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control:
Confirmed cases in S.C.: 170,862 (+741)
Positive tests in Charleston County (total): 16,994 (+39)
Negative tests in S.C.: 1,802,758
Deaths in S.C. from COVID-19: 3,713 (+18)
Charleston County began counting a record number of mail-in ballots after weeks of build up to election day. Roughly 56,000 people mailed their ballots, while many others voted early in-person. Across the nation, approximately 100 million Americans voted early, a record number of absentee ballots. Source: News 2
