The 22-seat 167 Raw Sushi Bar located in the oyster bar’s original 289 East Bay St. home will open for dinner Wednesday, owner Jesse Sandole told the City Paper Wednesday. Look for a two-part menu featuring a raw and hot side, with options like daily nigiri, hand rolls and more.

“It’s been a long time coming with COVID and what not,” Sandole said, adding that the team made some cosmetic updates to the space, including fresh wood tile floors and a new bar. “The timing really worked out well with the CDC dropping restrictions down, even though it’s going to be more spaced out than the oyster bar.”

The hot side of the menu will feature eight izakaya-style items, Sandole said, and the sushi side will have eight pieces of daily nigiri, two futomaki rolls, two types of sashimi, two hand rolls and a fresh made seaweed salad.

“It’s really fun — we’ve been working hard on everything, and it’s great to see it come together,” said Sandole, who hosted a family and friends event at the restaurant ahead of Wednesday’s opening. “It felt really great to get the energy pumping in there the other night.”

167 Raw Sushi Bar will be open for dinner daily from 4-10 p.m., with lunch coming soon. For more information, follow on Instagram @167raw_sushibar.
