What you need to know: Mount Pleasant’s mandate requiring masks in grocery stores and pharmacies is expiring after midnight Wednesday, and it will not be renewed, Mount Pleasant Mayor Will Haynie said Wednesday.
“I spoke with Town Council members and there is not a majority to support extending it,” Haynie wrote in a tweet. Haynie did, however, encourage businesses to set their own mask mandates.
In Charleston, City Council made it a recommendation rather than a requirement to wear masks outdoors Tuesday. Masks are still required indoors within city limits. Source: Live 5 News
