In August, store owner Clay Scales announced that he was closing 52.5 Records on King Street at the end of October. Things are winding down this week and the doors will be closed a little earlier than expected. The last day in business will be Saturday, October 23. The previous date was October 30.

On the final day, from 11 a.m.-6 p.m., any remaining stock will be available for 52.5 percent off. There’ll be art show and live music from local guitarist Bill Carson and members of the Shrimp Records roster.

“We’ll be accepting and hanging art up until October 22,” says Scales. “If artists want to show something, but not sell it, we are cool with that. I just want to fill the walls. All proceeds from sold art will be donated to a music-related charity.”
