What you need to know: DHEC announced 68 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, one day after the state counted its lowest total since March 2020. Cases are down, but South Carolina still trails the nation in vaccination rates, especially for adults aged 18-65.

South Carolina health officials reported 127 total cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday (68 confirmed, 59 probable), with one confirmed deaths.

With 5,196 tests reported Wednesday, 2.3% were positive.
