State health officials announced another 718 cases of COVID-19, the second lowest single-day count since November. Feb. 17 saw the lowest number of the year with 655 counted in one day.

South Carolina has had 437,806 cases of COVID-19 according to the state Department of Health and Environmental Control.

Another 21 deaths from the disease were counted Tuesday, bringing the total to 7,436.

Out of 15,095 tests reported today, 6.6% were positive for the coronavirus.

While the numbers have generally been lower in the last week, DHEC officials are still encouraging residents wash their hands frequently and to wear a mask (or two) and social distance when they go out.
