Indie Bookstore Day, usually the last Saturday of April, is now being celebrated by independent booksellers all over the country on the last Saturday of August.

The coronavirus pandemic pushed the date of the celebration back a few months and booksellers are keeping the pandemic in mind while celebrating this Saturday, with many bookstores offering a day full of virtual events.

Locally you can head to Itinerant Literate in Park Circle for an outdoor, socially distanced book sale from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Register for the free event online and take place in virtual events like a story time at 11:30 a.m. and a fall showcase (sneak peek of hot new titles) at 2 p.m.
[event-1] Goose Creek's Turning Page Bookshop is also participating in Indie Bookstore Day; check out its Facebook for pertinent details.
[event-2] If you can't make it to these bookstores this Saturday, head to other local booksellers like Main Street Reads, Buxton Books, the Village Bookseller and Blue Bicycle Books.
