Be sure to also check out our pointers on where to carb-up before the big race.

Whether you’re a race participant, frazzled from battling the tourist traffic, or a bum who stayed home, there are plenty of events to ease the tension of a busy, crowded weekend. Here’s what’s going on so far — we’ll be adding new parties all week.

The Brick House Kitchen, located on James Island, will host a Bridge Run after party starting at 5 p.m. on Sat. April 6. It’s 10 bucks to get into this funk and reggae party, which features bands like Treehouse!, South Street, Jahman Brahman, Schema, and Donnie Dies.

The Brickyard in Mt. Pleasant is giving bridge runners some live music on both Friday and Saturday, with Spunjwurthi on Friday and the Louie D Project on Saturday.

The just-opened Republic Reign will have a Bridge Run day party on Saturday from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. featuring music by Atlanta/Charlotte-based DJ A-Huf.

The Shelter on Coleman Boulevard has a “carb up before the run” menu on Friday, and a 7:30 a.m. Bridge Run Breakfast on Saturday. Craving some pasta?  O’Malley’s on King Street is having a pre-run pasta special from 4-10 p.m. on Friday.

If you’re more of a bowler than a runner, head to the Alley Saturday for their pre-party starting at 9 a.m. and a post-run party at 6 p.m. They’ll have drink specials and live music. Or you could go to Joe Pasta on King St. — they’re hosting their third annual Pajama Brunch Saturday starting at 9 a.m.

Speaking of opening early, several bars will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday to help you start celebrating early. Rooftop Bar and Restaurant will offer $6 Ketel One Mosas, and a Bento Box Menu. Big John’s Tavern will have drink specials, food by The Green Door, and live music with Make it Go and Simple Possession. Just around the corner, Mad River will offer $2 beer specials.

Restaurants are getting in on the action too. Enjoy a special breakfast menu starting at 9 a.m. at Halls Chophouse, brunch starting at 10 a.m. at Leaf Cafe and Caviar & Bananas, and special lunch items starting at 9 a.m. at Fish. These restaurants are also offering Bloody Mary, Bellini, and mimosa specials.

O-Ku will open at 10:30 a.m. for lunch, including Bento Boxes. Other places to check out early are Juanita Greenberg’s, Mellow Mushroom, Manny’s, Jim ‘n’ Nick’s Barbecue, Closed for Business, Monza, and the Macintosh.

In need of a stiff one, artisan-style? Head to the Cocktail Club for some fancy morning drinks. The Bridge Run is also a good excuse to eat dessert for breakfast, so Cupcake will be opening early as well.
