Local alt power-pop band A Fragile Tomorrow will release their new single “Waning” on July 15. The foursome that comprises brothers Dominic, Sean, and Brendan Kelly, plus Shaun Rhoades, recorded the track at Mitch Easter’s Fidelitorium in Kernersville, N.C. with producer and good friend Ted Comerford. “We actually did our last record there with him producing,” Dominic says.

“So when we decided to do this single, we knew we wanted to go back and record it there.” Some exciting accompaniments on the song include the Uptown Horns (also heard on Tom Wait’s Rain Dogs and The B52’s Cosmic Thing), and Jim Scott of Tom Petty and Wilco fame, who mixed the single.

“We got to know Jim Scott thanks to some mutual friends, and he was really excited to mix the song,” Dominic says.

“He’s a legend, and we’ve dreamed of working with him for a while now. He mixed the track out in California.” The single will drop in time for A Fragile Tomorrow’s summer tour with the Indigo Girls. Stay tuned for more good news from the band in the coming weeks. Dominic says, “There are lots of exciting things happening.”
