First, someone tweeted me the information. Al di La is now serving lunch!

Then, their new lunch menu landed on my desk. And finally, an ad appeared in the paper announcing the news that I’ve been sitting on for several weeks now. Yes! Al di La is open for lunch. Sorry it’s taken me so long to help spread the word.

The menu is wonderfully simple, broken down into zuppe, insalate, panini, and pizzette. They’ve also got a list of tantalizing cocktails, and I ask you, what working gal wouldn’t be tempted to drink on the job when a $5 Bellini beckons from the top of the page? Exactly.

The lunch menu is as elegant as the dinner one. Creamy tomato basil soup gives way to caprese and shepherd’s salad. Each panini combines a select few, high quality ingredients: proscuitto/mozzarella/arugula, sopressatta/genoa salami/tomato/basil/fontina, roasted vegetables/goat cheese, house-roasted beef/caramelized onions/gorgonzola. The pizzettes carry on a similar theme, and lunchtime prices fall within the reasonable $5-$8.25 range.

Have you dashed out the door yet? Well, you still have time, they serve lunch until 3 p.m. today. Regular lunch hours are Wed.-Sat., 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
