Post House Inn
Basic Project owners Ben and Kate Towill brought the 125-year-old building the Post House Inn calls home back to life nearly one year ago, updating the historic seven-room inn and restaurant before reopening in August 2020. No two rooms are the same at this quaint B&B, which still has the same charm as it did in its previous life as the Old Village Post House Inn.
Those looking for that quintessential Southern stay will find just that, but guests will now notice some additional modern features like new wallpaper, bespoke light fixtures and local art sourced by Charleston Artist Collective’s Allison Williamson. The Towills’ Charleston-based design company also renovated the Post House Restaurant, moving the main dining room to the back of the restaurant and the bar to face Pitt Street.
According to the Towills, it has been a joy to offer an escape during the pandemic for Charleston visitors and restless residents alike.
“When we reopened Post House, we envisioned a place where visitors and locals wanted to gather, eat and stay. It makes us so happy that we’ve hopefully accomplished this and that locals feel a connection to what we’ve built.”
