North of Jacksonville on Amelia Island is the home of the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival. The well-respected and impressively programmed festival begins on May 21-May 24, then May 31-June 14.
It will showcase more than 50 internationally acclaimed artists including violinists, pianists, and other ensembles.
Some of the 2009 performances are The Julliard String Quartet on May 23, Stravinsky’s A Soldier’s Tale on June 9 and The Guarneri String Quartet on October 27.
These performances will be set throughout the island including various churches, a historic courthouse, and a Civil War fort. Ticket prices range from $10 to $60 with most concerts at $25.
