This story has already made the rounds of the blogosphere, but, in case you haven’t heard, André Bauer is ready to offer you vacation weekends, hunting trips, bottles of wine, and a really cheesy (really expensive) boat painting — all in exchange for campain contributions.
Barack Obama offered t-shirts, buttons, and bumper stickers — and one or two trips to the national convention. Had Obama had the good sense to offer up vacation packages in his own home … well, who knows, he could have ended up breaking fundraising records or something.
The lesson, you can create a grassroots movement that inspires donations or you can just sell off your junk and your timeshares — you know, whatever works.
