Covering Spoleto’s social scene can be just as challenging as covering the festival itself. All that drinking, cheese-eating, outfit selection, and shmoozing is enough to wear anyone out. Luckily, City Paper contributor Kinsey Gidick decided she’s up for the task. Gidick (nee Labberton) started out as a lowly intern at the paper and stayed on as a writer for various sections, including Arts, Scene, Cuisine, and Features. We love her for her brutal honesty, killer wit, and Yakima charm.

“Think of me as your redheaded fly on the wall,” Gidick says. “Your graceless glamazon with the 411. I’ll do my damndest to bring you all the soiree madness from Broad Street to Spring Street, the Thoroughbred Club to the Recovery Room. I’ma drop names like Al Roker dropped pounds."

If you’re at one of the Spoleto parties, be sure to say hello — as she says, she’ll be the girl towering over the bow-tied masses looking for a cheese tray.
