Halloween fiends like myself will surely appreciate some local artsy folks getting into the spirit of the season. This week, you’ll find two creeptastic art shows along with a nice selection of spooky theater.

Jimbo’s Rock Lounge hosts an opening for Zombie Punks in Love on Thurs. Oct. 20 from 9-11 p.m. The show will feature zombie artwork by Jason Alan Layne, Justin Cammer, Leigh Wells, and David Sollars. There will also be music from Raised Hand.

On Friday, the Dead of Night Art Show takes over the Mill from 9-11 p.m. The show will feature classic horror and freak artwork by Justin Cammer, Phillip Hyman, Dan Diehl, and more.

As for theater, Charleston Stage’s Dracula is funny, bloody, and features a cameo appearance from actor Gabriel Wright’s ripped abs. The Footlight Players’ Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde opens Friday. Up in Summerville, the Flowertown Players’ production of The Rocky Horror Show opens Friday as well. Threshold’s production of The Crucible has been bumped to next week so they can finish up construction of their new theater.
