A new gallery will be gracing the streets of downtown Charleston starting next week. Located at 153 King Street, the former site of Ralph Lauren, Atelier Gallery Charleston will display a wide variety of styles, prices, and skill levels, with works from emerging, self-taught artists as well as established artists.

Owner Gabrielle Egan opened the gallery’s original location in downtown Asheville, N.C. in 2009. It’s become known for introducing fresh, emerging, local and regional artists to the mountain scene, and it will remain open.

Egan is excited about the new venture in Charleston. “We have visited Charleston for many years and love the historic charm of the city and its residents,” she says. “It is a bustling city with old-world charm and sophistication. We always imagined opening a location here.” The Atelier Charleston will cross-promote some popular Asheville artists in addition to many Charleston artists. See more at
