We’ve always loved a good beer, and it seems like the arrival of craft beers has sparked a whole new renaissance for beer lovers in Chucktown. We’ve got a new brewery, a new store just for craft beer, a new distribution company that specializes in specialty brews, a new homebrewing competition, and regular beer dinners at places like Ted’s, Atlanticville, and Carolina’s.

Two new beer dinners are coming up. One is tonight Thurs. March 19 at Atlanticville.  Chef Billy Condon and Sous Chef Bobby Yarbrough will create five courses from different areas of the world to be paired with beers from that particular region, picked out by  Don Richardson of All Good Brands. Order the courses a la carte or together as a prixe fixe dinner.

Next Wed. March 25, Carolina’s will host a Rogue Beer Dinner with five courses and beers like Mom Hefeweizen, Kells Irish Lager, Yellow Snow IPA, Dead Guy Ale, and Morimoto Soba Ale.

And, this just in, Gene’s Haufbrau — home of Charleston’s best beer selection — will host an outdoor beerfest in April, sponsored by SweetWater 420 with $4 pints from around the world plus a Lowcountry boil and barbecue.  Music by Lindsay Holler and Blue Plantation.

And, if you can’t wait for any of these events to get your beer fix, you can head over to the Beer Exchange to fill up your growlers.
