COVID-19 updates: South Carolina health officials reported 1,410 new cases of the coronavirus on Thursday, with 17 additional confirmed deaths.
With 9,729 tests reported Thursday, 14.5% were positive.
As of 3:49 p.m. Nov. 19, via S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control:
Confirmed cases in S.C.: 189,251 (+1,410)
Positive tests in Charleston County (total): 18,954 (+59)
Negative tests in S.C.: 2,139,010
Deaths in S.C. from COVID-19: 3,924 (+17)

Sullivan’s Island Polar bear plunge canceled. Dunleavy’s Pub has canceled their annual Polar Bear Plunge on New Year’s Day due to concerns about the pandemic.
