COVID-19 updates: South Carolina health officials reported 680 new cases of the coronavirus on Friday, with 7 additional confirmed deaths.
With 4,743 tests on Friday, 14.3 percent came back positive.

One of the six men charged in federal court for conspiracy to kidnap the governor of Michigan also threatened violence against South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster and other politicians, according to the FBI. SLED chief Mark Keel said his office had not been notified, and didn’t find out about the alleged threat until Thursday afternoon.
