Gov. Henry McMaster requested today that Dominion Energy withdraw their planned rate increase of 7.7% on over 750,000 S.C. customers. “A sizable rate increase at this difficult time would impose an unexpected and untenable burden on many South Carolinians,” he said, referencing the pandemic.

An application for the rate hike was sent to the Public Service Commission (PSC) in August, and the case will be considered in January. McMaster said that, if Dominion does not pull their application, he will ask the PSC to reject it. Source: News 2
