COVID-19 updates: South Carolina health officials reported 1,088 new cases of the coronavirus on Tuesday, with 11 additional confirmed deaths.
With 7,894 tests reported Tuesday, 13.8% were positive.
As of 2:36 p.m. Nov. 17, via S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control:
Confirmed cases in S.C.: 186,528 (+1,088)
Positive tests in Charleston County (total): 17,865 (+54)
Negative tests in S.C.: 2,093,644
Deaths in S.C. from COVID-19: 3,884 (+11)
Over the Limit: The saga of accessible beach parking on Isle of Palms continues. IOP’s town council will vote tonight at 6 p.m. on parking restrictions introduced during the pandemic to reduce the number of people on the beach. With beach season complete, council will decide to remove or keep restrictions to parking on the land-side of Palm Boulevard between 21st Avenue and 40th Avenue. Restrictions on 3rd Avenue, 9th Avenue and Hartnett Boulevard will also be discussed.
