[image-1]Partnering with the General Marion’s Brigade Chapter of the Daughters of the Revolution and the Colonel Hezekiah Maham Sons of the American Revolution, Berkeley County Library System (BCLS) present a special genealogy research event this Sat. Oct. 7 from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Tapping Into Your Roots, held at the Moncks Corner Train Depot, offers free resources for people looking to research their family history and create their own family tree.

Historian and archivist for BCLS, Ramona Grimsley, says, “In this age of the Internet, don’t discount your local library. Not all genealogy sites are free. We subscribe to several genealogy databases for you, our customers. Also, The South Carolina Room provides access to many one-of-a-kind print materials that may help with filling in your family tree.”

You can drop by the train depot anytime between 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday to speak with a member and secure a 15-minute time slot with a research expert. You can also sign up online.
