Staged by Midtown-Sheri Grace Productions, Reefer Madness has been the campiest musical of the year. While we loved its parody of fair-weather morality, perhaps the best moment was when Kathy Summer, who played the madame of the reefer den, finally had it up to here with her pimp and pusher (played by Ryan Ahlert, who also directed). She’s got murder on her mind, so what does she do? Go for a knife or a gun? Nope. It’s a garden hoe. As she clubs the man behind a prop, fake blood gushes onto her face. She’s a woman possessed with rage and not a little bit of lust, too. Please, give us some more real soon. —John Stoehr
