For the City Paper, it became official last August at our 10th Anniversary party at the Windjammer: Local rock trio Leslie are rock gods for sure. Singer-guitarist Sadler Vaden, drummer Jonathan Carman, and bassist Jason Fox formed in 2004 and quickly busted out some riff-heavy power-pop and guitar-rock. Their fiery, over-the-top, late-night set at the ‘Jammer impressed and surprised old fans and the uninitiated alike. Our favorite bit wasn’t Fox’s drop-to-the-knees move, or Vaden’s Townshend-esque windmills and Angus-inspired licks — it was Carman’s respectfully violent Keith Moon imitation and total drum kit smash-up. These guys recently hobnobbed with The Mooney Suzuki, Robert Downey Jr., and Lynyrd Skynyrd. What could be next?
