Although the College of Charleston tried to step up its game by adding a huge cafeteria in the middle of campus, it just hasn’t worked ever since Caviar & Bananas opened up. The pizza warmed by a heat lamp all day and the taco bar in the cafeteria just don’t sound as appealing as the fresh-rolled sushi, duck confit and caprese sandwiches, sliced ahi tuna, wild mushroom egg rolls, and a selection of gourmet teas and coffees at Caviar. And although Caviar & Bananas isn’t included in the school’s dining dollars, it’s worth it to ask the ‘rents for a little extra cash to take advantage of the close commodities.
