New York Times-bestselling author Mary Alice Monroe and Charleston Coffee Roasters will launch a collaborative Beach House Blend, inspired by Monroe’s seven-part series that takes place in the Lowcountry. A portion of sales from the blend, which became available April 13, will be donated to the South Carolina Aquarium’s Sea Turtle Care Center, a press release said.
“My readers generously embrace my devotion to the environment and animal conservation. With the release of the Beach House Blend, my fans can now enjoy one of my culinary passions — coffee,” Monroe said in the release. “Supporting Lowell, helping our beloved loggerhead turtles, and giving my fans a taste of Charleston is a way I can give back to my community and support our local economy.”
The coffee launch coincides with the May 11 release of The Summer of Lost and Found, the seventh book of the Beach House series. Pre-order a copy of the book and 12-ounce bag of the Beach House Blend, — “a dark roast and a rich, smooth combination of Colombian French, Sumatra and Mexican beans” — online at charlestoncoffeeroasters.com.
