The Coastal Carolina Fair celebrates its 54th anniversary this year at the Exchange Park in Ladson with a variety of concerts at the Lakefront Stage mini-amphitheater. They’ve pretty much gone country across the board, with a small dose of oldies for good measure.

This year’s series kicks off with a performance at 7:30 p.m. on Thurs. Oct. 28 by country singer Phil Vassar. Comedian James Gregory (a staple at the Fair) does his funny stuff on Fri. Oct. 29. Contemporary country singer Easton Corbin plays on Sat. Oct. 30. On Halloween, husky country-rock singer Colt Ford gets down and dirty with some redneck jive.

The schedule also features country-rocker Uncle Kracker, bluegrass singer/songwriter Ricky Skaggs and his band Kentucky Thunder, former American Idol contestant Danny Gokey, classic Southern rock band .38 Special, and vintage soul/pop singer Percy Sledge. A trio of doo-wop groups — the Coasters, the Platters, and the Marvelettes — close the concert series on Sat. Nov. 6.
