EVENT | A bazaar time with Queen Quet and co.

As part of their celebration of February’s Black History Month, The Citadel hosts the Annual Black History Month Bazaar. The bazaar will feature music, exhibits, food, and attract visitors to the campus from all across the Lowcountry. Marquetta L. Goodwine, a.k.a. Queen Quet, the chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation, will present a history of Gullah/Geechee culture, and live musical performances by A Touch of Class and Equal Rights provide entertainment for the crowd. Exhibits by Group Egypt and the Tut-Tut Kemetic Group as well as the Sankofa African-American Museum on Wheels will be on display. Founded by Angela W. Jennings, the traveling museum features artifacts from 1860 to the present and includes a display of inventions by African-Americans. —Josh Eboch SATURDAY
