BLOTTER O’ THE WEEK: A man questioned for panhandling downtown first told officers he was feeding meters. When they didn’t buy it, he changed his story: “I was promoting healthy, holistic lifestyles, and asking for donations for my cause.”

Officers wrangling with a difficult suspect made a not-too-surprising observation: “Offender became extremely combative, fighting and attempting to kick officers, but stopped resisting when Taser was applied.”

Items Stolen This Week: Five bikes and four GPS units

Police responded to a home where a man was allegedly standing in the front yard with a knife, intimidating the resident. The two men allegedly got into a fight earlier in the night over who ate the last piece of pizza. The Noid strikes again!

A woman reported a car break-in, but the stolen items included little more than a lab coat. Is it any real surprise that petty thieves see money in healthcare?

A suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after getting thrown out of a Market Street bar. He yelled from the back of the patrol car for his friends to have an entire law firm come to the county jail.

The Blotter is taken from City of Charleston police department reports. We’ve added a cartoon and a little commentary. We’ve added a little humor, too. No one has been found guilty. This is not a court of law.
