Boone Hall Plantation (1235 Long Point Road in Mt. Pleasant) kicks off its summer concert series on Sat. June 26 with the Boone Hall Beach Blast — a full day of authentic beach music, soul, and R&B. The headlining band is Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs, who are celebrating a 50th anniversary this summer. Williams’ latest album Back to Basics includes new performances of his golden hits "Stay," "Little Darlin’," and "May I."

Other featured acts include The Mighty Tams, The Fantastic Shakers, The SugarBees, and Mystic Vibrations. Presented as "A Day at the Beach at Boone Hall," activities include shag lessons from Sam & Lisa, volleyball, a bikini contest, and a dance contest. Food, beer, and wine will be available. Gates open at 11 a.m. Tickets are available in advance for $20.

Forthcoming events in the series include K.C. & The Sunshine Band with The Village People on Sat. July 24, and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band with The Dillards as part of the Boone Hall BBQ Championship and Bluegrass Festival on Sun. Sept. 5.
